On October 24th, Trees for Halton Hills was pleased to host our final community tree planting event of the year. It was a beautiful, cool Canadian fall morning in Acton, made even more special by the incredible golden foliage all around us.
We were joined by an amazing group of volunteers, including families, groups of friends, high school students, Town of Halton Hills staff, and Credit Valley Conservation staff and volunteers. Together, this energetic and enthusiastic crew planted 150 native trees—a wonderful contribution to our local community landscape.
A special highlight of the morning was a visit from an Indigenous speaker from Manitoulin Island. Joe spoke with the group about the importance of caring for the land and shared his family’s experience using nature’s bounty for healing. His words added a meaningful reminder of why this work matters.
Thank you to everyone who came out, dug in, and helped make the day such a success. Enjoy the winter, and we look forward to seeing you again in April 2027!
