2025 Plantings in Review

We’ve had a wonderful 2025 planting season!

Since the start of the year, 1,379 trees have been added to our 65,000 Tree Challenge counter — an amazing achievement! Of that total, 950 trees were planted through our six community planting events, along with new caliper trees at the Trees for Halton Hills Arboretum and Emmerson Park. Altogether, we’ve now reached 23,860 new trees in Halton Hills!

Our 2025 projects included:

✔ Georgetown Chevrolet Buick GMC with Georgetown 4th Scouts Rennie Street Park – May 3, 2025
✔ Keller Williams Wallace Street Park – May 8, 2025
✔ ENVIRO-LOC planting with Rotary Club – May 24, 2025
✔ Georgetown Firehall – Oct 4, 2025
✔ Georgetown Firehall – Oct 18, 2025
✔ KONE Inc. and public – Nov 1, 2025

Further information on each planting can be found under the ‘Our Projects’ menu.

We couldn’t have done it without our incredible volunteers, corporate partners and residents. It’s been a joy meeting everyone at our planting days and community events.
By planting 65,000 trees, we can make a real difference in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. Restoring and conserving forests helps remove carbon from the atmosphere and supports diverse ecosystems. Sixty-five thousand is a big number — but together, we can reach it! We ended our 2025 planting season with 20,093 new trees planted in Halton Hills since the start of our project.
If you’ve planted a tree (or more), please visit our website to add your contribution to the counter and help us track our collective progress.
Behind the scenes, Trees for Halton Hills members and staff are already planning for the 2026 season. We can’t wait to grow with you again next year.
All the best for the rest of 2025!
