Upper Canada Storm Water Pond planting – April 18, 2026
On April 18th, Trees for Halton Hills brought the community together for a rewarding morning of planting at the Upper Canada Storm Water Pond, Georgetown, where 150 native trees found new homes thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers. Recent rainfall made the soil soft and easier to work with—much to the delight of seasoned planters who know how challenging dry, hard Georgetown ground can be—though a few passing showers kept everyone on their toes. Undeterred, volunteers of all ages carried on with smiles and determination, including many families who turned the day into a shared experience, with children ranging from toddlers to teens working alongside parents and relatives. The energy and teamwork on display made the event especially memorable, and Trees for Halton Hills was delighted to collaborate with the Town of Halton Hills and such enthusiastic, friendly, and capable volunteers who helped make the day a true success.
