2025 Plantings in Review

We’ve had a wonderful 2025 planting season!

Since the start of the year, 1,379 trees have been added to our 65,000 Tree Challenge counter — an amazing achievement! Of that total, 950 trees were planted through our six community planting events, along with new caliper trees at the Trees for Halton Hills Arboretum and Emmerson Park. Altogether, we’ve now reached 12,201 new trees in Halton Hills!

We couldn’t have done it without our incredible volunteers and residents. It’s been a joy meeting everyone at our planting days and community events.

By planting 65,000 trees, we can make a real difference in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. Restoring and conserving forests helps remove carbon from the atmosphere and supports diverse ecosystems. Sixty-five thousand is a big number — but together, we can reach it!

If you’ve planted a tree (or more), please visit our website to add your contribution to the counter and help us track our collective progress.

Behind the scenes, Trees for Halton Hills members and staff are already planning for the 2026 season. We can’t wait to grow with you again next year.

All the best for the rest of 2025!
